Every car registered in Sweden receives a registration certificate.

Part 1: Technical details and other information about the vehicle
The following are included in Part 1 of the registration certificate.
You can do the following with part 1
- License a vehicle to be used
- If you want to lay up a vehicel (Not drive it anymore for a certain amount of time)
- If you want to order registration plates.
- If you need to order part 2 of the registration certificate
The part 1 information includes:
- Information about who owns or uses the vehicle
- Information about wheter the car was leased or credit purchase
- Technical information about the vehicle,
- General information about the vehicle,
Part 2: Certificate of ownership and change of ownership
Part 2 is always sent to the vehicle's owner, as determined by the Swedish Road Traffic Registry. Part 2 will be forwarded to the lessor if the vehicle has a remark about leasing. Part 2 of the registration certificate is an important document that must always be turned in with an application for a change of ownership.

The part 2 information includes:
- Details of the current owner of the vehicle
- Details about previous owners of the vehicle (no more than three)
- General information about the vehicle,

Laying up or license a vehicle to be used
You can avoid paying vehicle tax and third-party insurance. by using one of three methods
- Internet
- Telephone
- Telephone
The car is not immediately laid up just because a driving ban has been put on it. It is always necessary for you to actively lay up the car.
A laid-up vehicle is only allowed to be driven to and from the roadworthiness test, If third-party insurance is paid and there are no motor vehicle tax outstanding.
