This false sense of confidence can cause them to take unnecessary risks, for example in slippery conditions that turn out to be far more slippery then anticipated."

Example: A driver with little experience can be compelled to overtake a car on icy roads. Because he believes he had training in icy road conditions he can handle the situation only to find out that he's car is spinning out of control.
