Introduction
A clearway is a common misunderstood term. The reason for this is the road is in between a freeway and a priority road. It has some benefits of a freeway and some benefits of a priority road. A clearway is typically divided into 1+1, 1+2 or 2+2 or 2+1 lanes. Or different combinations

The following will discuss what a clearway is in more detail
- Clearway is indicated by a clearway sign
- There is no acceleration lane
- The road is not always separated by a center barrier
- You are not permitted to use the hard shoulder. There is usually a very limited ar small hard shoulder
- If there is a center barrier (Cables usually) it prevents head on collisions
